Holtye Ladies Win East Brighton Open

It is always gratifying to hear of successes within our ranks and last week was no exception.  The weather, if you recall, was pretty dire last Thursday (August 9th) and being exposed to the elements on top of the South Downs was no picnic.  Twenty two teams braved those conditions at East Brighton Golf Club, thankfully, with no strong winds to contend with at all - just rain all day.

Sue McDonnell and Val Ward played a four-ball better ball format off 90% handicap.  They won the event scoring 39 points after a count back.  Val also mastered the tricky 7th hole getting nearest the pin.  The prizes were from M & S, a black leather handbag and a scarf each.  In addition, for nearest the pin Val won a sun visor.

Many congratulations to them both.
