We do not claim to be open all year round but in the winter we do manage to remain open and be playable when most courses around are closed. We don't claim to be able to play on the main greens all year round, our mature greens do not have the rapid draining qualities of modern USGA specifications, but nevertheless they do remain in play more than most other courses around.

However, unlike the modern courses, we do not have a 'frost policy' so you can play early in the morning when it's white and not have to wait until noon! We've done it for years and see no need to change.

Temporary greens - yes we do have them and when needed we use them. More often than not they are only a step or two off the main greens and of similar quality. You will not find them 50 yards short of the main green with a bumpy, foot-marked surface with an 8" bucket for a hole! During spells of poor weather, phone the pro shop first to find out whether the course is open and if the main greens are in play.
