Ladies

On Thursday mornings the Ladies meet to play competitive or friendly rounds of golf. Refreshments at lunchtime in convivial company follows this. We play essentially for the fun of it and enjoy the clubhouse atmosphere after our games. A small band of intrepid players whose work commitments do not allow them to take part during the week play at weekends in competitions which mirror the Thursday morning competitions. Although golf is played essentially as a leisure pursuit, we are blessed with a wide variety of abilities at the Club who all mix happily and play in the spirit for which the game was intended. Ladies who are competitively minded are well catered for with the County Association operating a match play Divisional system, a Mini League designed for the smaller clubs in the County and other Foursome and Single competitions which are run annually. Matches are played in a friendly spirit against other local clubs between July and October, following the hurly-burly of the County scene and providing that much needed respite and the opportunity to play other courses for a fraction of the cost of playing them as a visitor! These matches act as a means of introducing higher handicap members to friendly competitive situations. Currently we do have vacancies in the Ladies Section - come along and join in the fun.
